Jessica Alba Just Wore the 2017 Version of Cutouts
The cutout trend is sensual, sure, but it can often be tricky to make this look sophisticated and classic too. But at the Marie Claire Image Makers Awards in Los Angeles last night, Jessica Alba showed us a more elegant spin on the trend.
Instead of attention-seeking cutouts on the ribs or side-boob areas, Alba opted for a flattering belted tuxedo jacket with slashes across the shoulders and sleeves, revealing her bare skin. Shoulder-flashing tuxedo jackets are becoming a niche trend for 2017, as Jennifer Lawrence proved in her off-the-shoulder Antonio Berardi suit.
Alba paired her Balmain jacket from the S/S 17 collection with a pair of wide-leg suit trousers, which skim the floor hiding her heels, making her legs appear super long. She kept her accessories to a minimum, only carrying a ladylike mini black handbag, keeping the attention on the unexpected cut-outs on her arms. This is how to do sulty dressing in a grown-up, truly effortless way.
