The H&M Collaboration Nobody's Talking About
The fashion world may gone into an uncontrollable tizzy when the Alexander Wang x H&M collaboration was announced back in April, but there's another collaboration the Swedish mega-retailer just announced that we're equally thrilled by. In concurrence with the brand opening its new 57,000 square foot flagship store on New York's Fifth Avenue, contemporary artist Jeff Koons has signed on to produce a handbag that will be available online starting July 17!
"The partnership with H&M was really exciting for me and the chance to showcase one of my most popular works to a new generation of people was inspiring," Koons said in a release from the brand of his iconic balloon dog, which graces the front of the black leather bag. "H&M delivers great fashion season after season and it's nice to see my work at their new store."
Koons is well-known for integrating his work with pop culture; his partnership with Lady Gaga for the release of her album Artpop this year saw him create a lifesize sculpture of the pop star, which was featured prominently on her album cover. The bag he's created for H&M will be available at select stores in the U.S., including those in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas, as well as on hm.com.
