Christopher Kane Gave a Crash Course in Neon for Spring

Jessica Schiffer

It’s been a tough year for Christopher Kane and his sister/business partner, Tammy, who lost their mother just days before debuting their F/W 15 collection in February. As a result, a car crash became the metaphor for this collection—the notion of “drawing upon destruction to create something new.” Though this is evident in the sharp, geometric patterns and overlapping layers of fabric, Kane’s employment of bright neon colours lends the collection a hopeful spin. As the shownotes put it, “Things fall apart only to find a new centre”—an attitude we can definitely get behind!
