I'm Sure Puffa Jackets Never Used to Be This Cool
Great news, fashion friends: Puffa jackets are still cool news for this winter. This season some of the most unlikely brands get involved in the ever-growing movement for quilted coats: Alexander McQueen, Pucci and Roksanda offered up more refined versions should something too rough 'n' ready and genuinely practical feel like something you're allergic to. Although, other leading names such as J.W.Anderson and Prada contributed with more down-to-earth weekend-worthy versions. Suffice to say, the outerwear trend has risen from streetwear roots to rather lofty, high-fashion territory in 2018.
The puffa made a comeback a few seasons ago when a host of street style stars and brands (ahem, Balenciaga and Marques'Almeida) decided to scale up proportions and make XXL statement coats.
Many took them out for a spin and realised not only did they look good, but they felt flippin' excellent too: Being warm has never been so stylist. So until now, we've had never wanted to get our hands on a technically advanced jacket, but from Moncler's down and goose stuffed puffa to Uniqlo's lightweight down jacket (that works great as a heated holder), the winter game is forever changed.
High-tech brands are now so cool, in fact, that denim label R13 has decided to team up with mountain expert brand Brumal for a special puffa collaboration—and the result is excellent. Whether you need a weekend warmer, want to leave the house for the weekly commute in your duvet or want to go for a full fashion statement, upgrade your outerwear collection with a seriously cosy puffa coat now.
